Kickoff - ARA Innovation Space

Innovation Kick-Off

After a month of preparations, the ARA Innovation Space had its official kick-off event on November 15th. In the opening speech, Laura Glasberg, the project manager presented the 4 core themes that the innovation space will be dealing with in the coming year under the umbrella of circular economy: resources, future wastes, circular design and circular economics.

In the 3 presentations that followed by Dr. Christoph Scharff (ARA AG), Mag. Brigitte Kranner (Altmetalle Kranner) and Dr. Rainer Pamminger (ECODESIGN, TU Vienna) our guests gained some insights and background knowledge about circular economy and where we stand today, to better understand how circular economy innovation can be driven most effectively.

Our guests were then asked to write down their questions and throw them into a small recycling bin – some of those questions were then drawn and answered by the speakers, leading to a short discussion.

We were proud to welcome Raphael Volkmer, social design student at the University of Applied Arts, who presented his upcycling art project “Pewter Transmutation”.

The rest of the evening was rich in discussions, wine and snacks. People with very different backgrounds yet similar interests connected and together started thinking about new ideas.

The ARA Innovation Space is looking forward to the future work with interested people.

Our next event “Die Philosophie des Schenkens” will be on the 13.12 at 6 PM at ZIMMER.
